Update on GAP Traineeships

News Date: 24.11.2010

The Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) has awarded a grant of £260,121 under its Skills for the Future programme to the Grazing Advice Partnership to set up and run a three-year nationwide programme of six and twelve month traineeship placements.

The aim will be to offer trainees a mix of ‘on the job’ work experience and instruction in the practical skills associated with livestock handling and conservation grazing.

Trainees will receive a bursary, mentoring support and access to GAP training courses. A two day induction course will be provided for each trainee as well as a set of protective clothing.

Placements have been arranged with a range of leading traditional livestock farms and conservation grazing schemes and are expected to commence in March 2011.

We will be advertising the full details of the placements very soon,  if you would like to be notified as soon as the details are available or have any queries please contact us on 01249 470029 or email enquiries@grazingadvicepartnership.org.uk.
